About Us

We run a family medical practice next to the Morningside Clinic in a Building called Rochester Place. Dr. Richard Eastman is our Resident Family Doctor. He obtained his Medical degree and Bachelor of Sciences degree from Pretoria University in 2006. He did his Internship and Community service at Tembisa hospital from 2007-2009. During his two-year internship he rotated through General Surgery, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, Orthopedics, Anesthetics, Psychiatry, O&G and Family Medicine. During his community service year he rotated through General Surgery, Trauma and Casualty and O&G.

Richard Eastman worked at a Private, busy Practice in Paulshof the whole of 2010 before being approached by Dr Jacobs to take over his Family Practice in Morningside. Richard was not looking to move at the time but took the opportunity to grow his own Family G.P Practice.
He has also done numerous courses which include ACLS (advanced cardiac life support), PALS (pediatric advanced life-support), ATLS (advanced trauma life support), Introductory Botox and Dermal filler course, Advanced Botox and Dermal filler course, 5-day CDE Advanced course in diabetes care for health professionals (with distinction).

Richard enjoys all aspects of medicine but is very involved and passionate about Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Diabetes Management and Nonsurgical Aesthetics Procedures.

Richard is a Father, Husband and Family Man and he is passionate about Medicine, has a holistic approach regarding treatment and is very thorough before diagnosing a patient. Patients will not feel like a number, will not be rushed during an appointment and will feel very at home in his tranquil, calming and down to earth rooms.

The other members of our team include a Full-time Senior Nurse and Diabetes Educator and Councilor Marilyn Michel. She has been working in the private sector for many years and worked for the Practice and for Dr Danie Jacobs who retired at the end of 2010 for over 20 years. She is a fully qualified Diabetes Educator and also has a keen interest in diabetes management and treatment. Marilyn assists Dr Eastman with all the Medicals, the Diabetes side of the Practice and is the Practice Manager.

Chrissie Kekana is our Systems Operator and Senior Receptionist and has also been part of the practice for over 20 years and knows all the regular patients and makes everyone feel at home.
